We were inspired by the longest day of the Materans, July 2, when celebrations are held in honor of Maria S.S. della Bruna, the town’s patron saint. From sunrise to sunset Matera appears enchanted and it’s impossible to not get caught up in the fascinating interweaving of history, faith and tradition that animates the city and involves all of its citizens.
Each of the three rooms is dedicated to an essential element of the traditional festival. All are tastefully furnished and equipped with a private bathroom. It’s an ideal place for couples, groups of friends and families. You will experience the local history and discover the secrets of one of the most unique festivals in Southern Italy, where the sacred and the profane have been intertwined for centuries.
